Proofreading
This is the final stage in the process of preparing your brochure, website, or business letter for the public eye.
Proofreaders check for spelling errors, word repetition, inconsistent typography, spacing, and so forth. They give the final nod of approval on your project before "one last change" becomes a costly mistake.
You would hire a proofreader if your material is basically ready to go - it just needs one last read-through. Whereas a copyeditor will go through your document with a fine-toothed comb, a proofreader looks for the more obvious mistakes and inconsistencies. It's the "pre-flight check," or sorts, for your business communications.
